meet the trainers

keith grant - owner and head trainer

Keith has been involved in Muay Thai for over 30 years. Originally from Scotland, he began training when he traveled to Thailand for the first time and has been hooked since. Over the years, he has fought in both Scotland and England and proudly represented his country twice on the world stage. During this time, he was ranked #6 in the U.K.

Drawing from his vast experience, Keith also holds his judging license in the U.K. and Australia and you’ll see him judging on many of the country’s biggest shows.

keanu - trainer

Keanu has been training Muay Thai for 4.5 years. He first got into Muay Thai because he and his mates loved playing the UFC game. When his best friend told him that he was going to do a trial Muay Thai class, Keanu jumped at the chance. It’s there that he first met Keith and immediately started to fall in love with the sport of Muay Thai from his very first lesson.

His favourite things about training are ‘getting to see all your friends and the community you build, and the feeling of improving every session, skill-wise, strength-wise, and mental-strength-wise’. He also loves the competition side of the sport and being able to test his skills against others in the ring. He’s taken advantage of the many opportunities available to fighters here in Melbourne and has competed in Muay Thai at both the amateur and professional levels. Keanu has done 5 amateur fights and 8 professional fights with 5 wins and 3 losses.

tommy - trainer

Tommy has been training Muay Thai for 5 years. He loves the community in the gym and how welcoming it is. He has embraced the chance to be a trainer and loves teaching the sport, engaging with students, and learning about it every day.

Tommy is one of our amateur fighters and has jumped in the ring for four fights so far. His commitment to training and improving his skills is second to none. Outside of Muay Thai, you could see Tommy patrolling the pool as a lifeguard. He is currently completing his Cert 4 in Fitness.

howie - kids’ muay thai trainer

Howie started training 3.5 years ago to help him become the best version of himself. He likes how Muay Thai tests him both physically and mentally. He thrives on pushing his limits and continually improving his skills and craft in and out of the ring.

He brings his high energy, patience, and focus on fun to each Kids’ Muay Thai class. He likes teaching our youngest students the basics of the sport, while also encouraging them to get out of their comfort zones and try something new!
